Insulation Products

Fiberglass Batt Insulation -- Knauf EcoBatt®

We typically recommend the use of “batt insulation” in walls and under floors, and for insulating HVAC ducts. Knauf EcoBatt® is the next generation of insulation and represents superior sustainability with its natural brown color. The brown color was developed from ECOSE™ technology. This is made from sand and other recycled organic materials, not petroleum-based chemicals. Containing no formaldehyde or dyes found in traditional fiberglass insulation, EcoBatt® is GREENGUARD Children & Schools CertifiedSM  and delivers exceptional quality and durability along with high sustainability.

Blown Fiberglass Insulation -- Knauf Jet Stream

Jet Stream® ULTRA Fiber Glass Blowing Insulation is an unbonded, virgin fibrous glass blowing insulation.  It is designed with optimal thermal properties and provides excellent coverage and blowing characteristics.  It provides a choice of R-values based on the installed thickness and weight per square foot.  This product is the right solution for insulating many attics and for filling in gaps, sidewalls, or small spaces in attics and ceilings. With this insulation, we can create a thermal barrier against outside temperatures. Jet Stream is non-combustible, non-corrosive, and resists rot and mold. Jet Stream is manufactured with a minimum of 40% post-consumer recycled glass.

Air Sealing Products

Knauf Insulation EcoSeal™

Knauf Insulation EcoSeal™ is a fast drying, water-based elastomeric spray that seals penetrations and joints in the building envelope.  It is used to air seal exterior walls, attics, and floors. EcoSeal dries to a flexible tough film and has great bond strength with low odor and is low V.O.C.  It should be used in conjunction with insulating products to provide a one-two punch against outside temperatures.

GREAT STUFF™ Insulating Foam Sealants

When needed, we choose the correct foam, whether it be no expanding, low expanding, or high expanding insulating foams to fill the cracks and crevices in the building envelope.  Insulating Foam Sealants seal air leaks easily, inexpensively, and permanently. Insulating Foam Sealants are used to fill pipe penetrations, fill gaps in the structure where two building materials meet, and to fill any space that allows air to enter or leave the building envelope.  We generally use three formulations of foam sealants: Gaps & Cracks, Big Gap Filler, and Window & Door.  Where needed, we also use the Dow Froth Pack Two Part foam.

FIBERseal is premium quality, high velocity, water-based duct sealant with fiber reinforcement.  We use it to stop up cracks in the HVAC ducts so they stop leaking conditioned air you paid to condition to the outside of your home.  It smells for a day or two, but it’s perfectly non-toxic and safe.

Products that Air Seal and Insulate

STYROFOAM™ Brand Extruded Polystyrene Insulation Board has inherent moisture resistance and a closed-cell structure, has traditionally delivered stable long-term R-value in roofs, walls, and foundations. The cell structure imparts high compressive strength and exceptional resistance to water and water vapor.  Because the boards are lightweight and easy to cut to size, the original BLUE™ - STYROFOAM™ Brand Extruded Polystyrene Insulation is also great for air sealing and creating thermal boundaries.

Whole House Ventilation

The Lifebreath Heat Recovery Ventilation system moves stale, contaminated, air from inside the house to outdoors.  At the same time it draws fresh oxygen-laden air from outside and distribute it throughout the house. Stale, polluted air is constantly being replaced by an equal quantity of fresh clean air. As the two air streams pass through the unit they do not mix. They pass on either side of our exclusive and patented aluminum heat-exchange core which transfers heating/cooling energy from the outgoing air to the incoming air. The efficiency of an HRV is so great that virtually none of the warm/cool air collected from your home is lost to the outside. In summer, the HRV works in reverse - removing heat from the incoming air and transferring it to the outgoing air, to keep your home cool and fresh. Lifebreath’s unique dual-stream airflow design, keeps outgoing stale air separate from incoming fresh air and completely rejuvenates the air throughout the entire home – up to eight times a day. Lifebreath’s balanced ventilation technology replaces indoor stale air with an identical amount of fresh air. This balanced ventilation is critical to prevent moisture build-up in your home during the heating season which can lead to expensive rot damage and hazardous mold. With a patented aluminum core that is so reliable, Lifebreath offers a lifetime warranty.
