As the first step to weatherization, an energy audit assesses how much energy a structure consumes and allows us to evaluate what you can do to make it more energy efficient.

We use a variety of techniques and equipment to determine the energy efficiency of a structure.  A blower door test helps identify leaks in the building envelope and at plumbing and electrical penetrations.  We use tools, such as an infrared camera, to visually identify leaks and areas of heat escape.  We inspect forced-air heating and cooling ducts to identify leaks.  With these tests, we can pinpoint areas for sealing, caulking, flashing, or other weatherization strategies.  After testing, we will recommend weatherization strategies based on the least cost for the greatest benefit, helping you to strategically target your energy upgrades.
